The secret to becoming an annoying and productive person in the early morning
When you're curled up in the comfort of your bed, it's hard to get out. However, changing your soft sheets for a trip to the gym could be exactly what your body needs, once you have overcome the entire nap situation. A morning workout can not only help you lower your blood pressure and consume fewer unnecessary calories throughout the day, but it also frees up your after-work day for fun things like catching up with friends or trying a new recipe.
Unfortunately, if it were so easy to become a person in the morning. Join the dawn patrol with these five suggestions backed by experts to make the first part of the day a little easier:
1. FIND A FRIEND
Waking up to sweat alone can be difficult. Waking up when you know that someone else is trusting you to put yourself in their training also keeps you responsible. A 2016 study published in the Obesity magazine found that overweight people tend to lose more pounds if they spend time with their friends in shape. And understand this: the more time you spend together, the more weight you lose. "Enroll a friend or partners to sweat with you," suggests John Murray, co-founder of Lyons Den Power Yoga in New York City. "Then make a public commitment to their social networking feeds about labeling themselves to others. Share your progress can, in turn, help generate some momentum with a new routine."
2. MAKE A PLAN AND COMPROMISE
"Establish yourself for success by creating a plan with the definitive rules for yourself," suggests Dyan Tsiumis, nutrition coach and director of training in turn fitness, a spin study in the city from New York. "Make a schedule that will follow to create consistency to develop this habit." We promise: The more often you wake up and leave at 6 am, the faster you will feel normal.
