Powerful reasons why you should never go back to complain   


 It is probably unrealistic to decide never to complain again, but try to challenge yourself to stop for several weeks and then maintain a much less plagued existence.


It is not that most people remain seated all day pointing out the negative in life, far from it.   Most of us can even actively seek to realize and talk about everything we have to thank in life.   We can even frequently share special moments with loved ones, follow our passions in life, write about gratitude in a diary or participate in other positive activities.   But we still find ourselves complaining more than we need, and more than what is healthy.



Most of us need to vent frustrations from time to time and, with luck,   This is done in the context of brainstorming solutions.   We need to talk with loved ones about feelings, both positive and negative.   We need to seek the opinions of those we trust when we face difficult decisions or situations.   And this can be positive, but it can also often involve sharing stories about problems.   Sometimes, that becomes complaints or excessive gossip, and that can be a slippery slope.

Taking action   The need to complain comes from a dissatisfaction with something that is happening in one's life (often together with a feeling of inability to change it).   Complaints can be a sign that action is needed.   So, the next time you feel like complaining, focus on what you can do to change your circumstances, and then (if possible) do it.

Cultivating optimism.   It is much easier to abandon negative habits by replacing them with positive ones.   (In fact, many experts say that this is the only effective way to do it).
