5 good reasons why you should stop to complain

A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Nicaragua.   It was an incredible experience and one that I will never forget.   We spent our time there building a new home for a local pastor, but it was not easy at all.

During the trip I got tired, I was hungry, I dirty and I began to lose the comforts of home.   Everything in me wanted to complain, but I could not.   As we worked, I realized that the other members of the mission team also resisted the temptation to complain despite the monstrous mosquito attacks and the strenuous weather.   Due to our refusal to complain, our positive attitude dictated the atmosphere on our trip, not our conditions.

I would like to say that I returned home from that trip and never again complained about anything.   But, unfortunately, sometimes I still find a way to upset myself.   However, I can say that now I realize how important it is not to want to complain and I do everything possible to avoid it.   If you have difficulty complaining and to go   For the negative route as I sometimes do, review the following 5 reasons why you should stop complaining.

Complaining does nothing to solve your problem

One of the most compelling reasons not to complain is that complaints do not solve your problems.   Regardless of what you are facing, choosing to be negative and verbalize your frustrations will not help you in your situation.

If you want to do something productive with your problems, then try to pray.

The next time you feel frustrated with your work, instead of complaining, pray that God will give you a passion for your work or the courage to find a new one.

The next time you are arguing with your spouse, instead of complaining, pray that God will strengthen and improve your marriage.

The next time your bank account is running low, instead to complain, pray for God to provide it.

The complaint raises your brain for negativity

As I mentioned, complaining does not solve your problems. And since it does not solve your problems, all it really does is make your problems seem even bigger than they really are. When you descend the rabbit's path of negativity, you inevitably create a negative snowball. A negative thought, which leads to another negative thought. Before you know it, your negative thoughts will create a negative disposition within you. If you focus on everything negative in your life, you will be so worried about it that you will lose all the blessings around you. If you do not believe me, check out this recently published article that explains how complaints mold your brain into a machine of negativity.

Leaders do not complain

If you are close to a leader for a long time, you will realize how weird it is to catch a leader complaining. This is because the leaders do not complain about the problems, they solve them. Complaining about their circumstances only perpetuates and magnifies their problems. Leaders also realize that their attitude is contagious and if they focus on the bad, so will everyone around them. Any amount of time spent complaining about a problem is the time that could best be spent finding a solution. Leaders are problem solvers, not problem seekers.

Nobody likes to be close to a complaint

Have you ever been somewhere that seems to take your life?  Or around a certain person who seems to be taking your life? Well, most likely, the reason you feel that way is because that place or that person is practicing the art of complaining. Complaining stinks of negativity and takes away everything that is within our reach. I want to spend my time optimistic, not pessimistic. Not because I want to live in a fantasy world where I can pretend that everything is perfect, but because I believe that this world is difficult enough without other people demolishing it.

Your reason for complaining is probably not good.

I do not know about you, but most of my complaints are related to an exaggerated reaction to the trivial things in life. All that is needed is for a fast food restaurant to forget to remove the pickles and mustard from my burger and, if I am not careful, my attitude will begin to resemble that of a 6-year-old child.

That may seem a bit ridiculous (probably because it's ridiculous), but that's real life. The solution to the complaints, in my opinion, is the perspective. Instead of complaining about what is wrong in our life; We must thank God for what is right with our life.

For example, I really should not complain about being forced to eat a hamburger with pickles and mustard. I should be grateful to have food to eat.

I really should not complain about the negative aspects of my work, I should just be grateful for the fact of having a job.

And I really should not complain about having a "bad" day. I should be grateful that I'm still breathing!

Regardless of your situation or circumstances, choose today to start trying to find things to be grateful for, not to complain. I promise you and those around you will be glad you did.
