ConvertKit launches Visual Automation you had to start from scratch, with everything you know now, what would you create?


That's what Dylan (our product designer) and I asked ourselves in January 2017, when we met in person to reimagine ConvertKit from scratch. Starting with a blank slate, or in this case an empty sketchbook, we designed what we believe would be the perfect email marketing experience.


We eliminated all preconceived notions or anything that was easy to build based on the base we already had. We immediately had some requirements:


It had to be more powerful and allow more advanced automation than our current experience.

But with that, it also had to be even easier to configure and use for beginners.

And finally, it had to be fast.

We fulfill those three objectives and create something that is truly magical to experience.


That experience is live today.

In this new experience, we were able to add advanced features such as conditional branches, activation events when a tag is added and the use of exact dates in a sequence.

This type of advanced functionality will prevent the limitations in ConvertKit from holding you back.

At the same time, we made no commitment to how easy it is to use ConvertKit. In fact, the new visual editor makes it even easier for beginners to see exactly what their subscribers will experience.
